The Maintenance Assistant is knowledge of commercial construction, remodeling trades, practices, procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, and materials. Strong background in painting, sheetrock repair, installation, demolition, and remodeling experience. Carpentry skills and heating and air experience preferred.

DUTIES

1. Adhere to the long range, short range, and daily plans for the maintenance services of the facility.

2. Report and responds to system failures immediately.

3. Ensure that the facility and its equipment are properly maintained for resident comfort and convenience.

4. Keep work areas hazard-free and clean.

5. Follow established infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained when performing maintenance procedures.

6. Duties will include painting, drywall installation, demolition, remodeling, and etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Knowledgeable of all hand and power tools, and safety precautions.

2. Successfully complete maintenance skill exam.

3. A minimum of 5 years experience, experience.

4. High school graduate preferred.

5. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.

6. Must be able to perform essential functions of the job with minimum supervision.
